As part of our intensive preparation for the upcoming SUAS 2025 competition, our team has conducted a comprehensive dry run simulation to replicate actual competition-day scenarios. The goal of this simulation was to evaluate our operational readiness, optimize task execution under time constraints, and identify areas for refinement in both mission operation and teardown efficiency.
The dry runs and teardowns were performed in both morning and afternoon sessions. Below are the recorded times from each round:
Morning Session Report
Dry Run Performance:
• Dry Run #1: 16 minutes 20.15 seconds
• Dry Run #2: 11 minutes 54.01 seconds
• Dry Run #3: 8 minutes 23.17 seconds
Tear Down Performance:
• Tear Down #1: 5 minutes 29.03 seconds
• Tear Down #2: 2 minutes 37.04 seconds
• Tear Down #3: 1 minute 34.02 seconds
Afternoon Session Report
Dry Run Performance:
• Dry Run #1: 33 minutes 42.99 seconds
• Dry Run #2: 10 minutes 21.14 seconds
• Dry Run #3: 6 minutes 46.91 seconds
Tear Down Performance:
• Tear Down #1: 2 minutes 50.59 seconds
• Tear Down #2: 2 minutes 40.10 seconds
• Tear Down #3: 1 minute 08.29 seconds
Performance Summary and Observations
It is evident from the results that the team has demonstrated significant progress in reducing operation times across both dry run and teardown activities. Notably, the third round of the afternoon session shows marked improvement compared to the initial morning rounds. The time reduction from the first morning dry run (16:20.15) to the final afternoon dry run (6:46.91) reflects a 58% increase in operational efficiency.
Similarly, teardown performance improved considerably, with teardown time decreasing from 5:29.03 in the first morning round to just 1:08.29 in the final afternoon round—a reduction of nearly 80%.
These improvements are a testament to our team’s dedication, adaptability, and ongoing refinement of procedures as we move closer to SUAS 2025. We remain committed to achieving excellence and ensuring mission readiness through continuous training and evaluation.
